How do you transform a basketball gymnasium into an eSports battleground, and open the eyes of the Midwestern communities to the future of collegiate sports? For the Midwest Campus Clash, a full event identity was created. Working alongside lighting and staging designers, we created an event that is destined to become an annual tradition.
On April 8, 2017, eight of the Midwest’s best collegiate eSports teams battled live at Columbia College for the $25,000 Midwest Campus Clash (MWCC) prize pool. Fending off tough competition from the likes of Ohio State, University of Michigan and Columbia College, Robert Morris University emerged victorious, taking home the inaugural MWCC championship. More than 1,300 gaming fans passed through the doors to enjoy the two gaming tournaments and all of the expo experiences, giveaways and challenges.
